Prenatal Yoga Testimonial

After just one lesson with Maria in the studio, I knew I wanted to utilize her expertise for private instruction.  We worked together at my home for several months before I became pregnant, and I was feeling great!  Both y flexibility and posture had improved dramatically, and I really had a sense that yoga had balanced out my active, physical lifestyle.  

While pregnant, I wanted to stay as mobile as possible, but I knew that my level of activity would need to gradually decrease.  My husband, who is an obstetrician, highly recommended prenatal yoga as a way for me to manage the discomforts of pregnancy and labor.  Maria worked with me twice a week throughout my entire pregnancy, and she specifically tailored each session to accommodate my changing body and physical abilities.  She would call before each lesson to ask how I was feeling, how much of a challenge I felt capable of that day, and what areas we needed to work on. 

During each session, Maria and I worked on different areas that needed opening and lengthening.  On days that I was feeling particularly sluggish and tired, we would simply do gentle stretching and breathing exercises.  During savasana, Maria always read the most amazing and inspiring pieces about motherhood that often brought tears to my eyes!

Maria is absolutely the very best yoga instructor I have ever worked with.  She is extremely intuitive and possesses an extensive knowledge of both physical yoga practice and eastern philosophy.  Being an excellent mother herself and a very experienced prenatal yoga teacher, she knew exactly what I needed throughout every stage of my pregnancy, an she undoubtedly made my journey much easier and enjoyable.
